The purpose of this evaluation is to explore the library's collection on women in Middle Eastern Islamic countries. Below are the criteria by which to evaluate the collection areas relating to women in Middle Eastern countries. This project is ongoing.

| Scope/coverage/depth: | Is the section adequate, strong, weak, or reliant upon a single author or publisher? What is the amount of material compared to other sections? |
| Currency of information (archival, classics, current): | Are materials outdated, or current? What is the average age or publication date of the materials? Does it appear to be fairly well weeded? |
| Appropriate for the curriculum or target audience: | In general, does the subunit appear to relate to the curriculum, target audience? Is the language and content suitable for the intended readership? |
| Circulation and usage: | If there are dates stamped in the books, check them for circulation patterns, frequency, and recent transactions. Are the materials circulating or collecting dust? |
| Physical condition: | Are the materials damaged? Is there wear and tear on items? Missing pages? |
| Monetary value: | What is the cost to replace the items? (Check the online catalog for the cost or Books in Print or Amazon for the current price or replacement value.) |
| Maintenance: | How well is the section maintained? Books scattered everywhere? Neglected? Weeded? |
| Popular readership: | While executing this project, try to observe the section to see if patrons are browsing in the area, and if so, are they checking out materials or merely looking? |
